Fashion changes rapidly, but real cedar always remains trendy.
Canadian red cedar has been known for ages for its natural beauty
and endless versatility. It lies flat and straight, so it’s super easy to fit in
place. This sturdy and structurally solid wood is surprisingly light, so it’s
easy to lug around your construction site.
In terms of sustainability, our ecologically clean red cedar originating
from Vancouver Island, beats composite decking at every level. In
fact, real cedar actually boasts a net carbon sink, meaning our wood
removes greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.
This wood is also naturally resistant to rot, insects, decay, moisture,
and therefore lasts longer, requires less maintenance and doesn’t need
chemical treatment.

THROW BACK TO 2005
MIKE, SHERRY AND MIKE JR TALK
ABOUT THEIR TAKE ON BEIGE BACK IN
2005. DID THEY LOVE IT OR HATE IT?
MIKE HOLMES Beige was okay because it provided a good
neutral color base, but it wouldn’t be my choice. Today,
neutrals have more variety and tonal ranges, but they are
still neutral, which help to complement any room you are
decorating.
MIKE HOLMES JR. Personally, I’m really happy that beige is
no longer the go-to color. I am NOT a beige guy - it washes
me out! However, I do love that grays are the new “it” neutral
color. I find gray to be much edgier and there are many
options to choose from.
SHERRY HOLMES HATE IT! Try something different! I
understand wanting to include neutral colors in a home, but
beige is boring (in my opinion anyway). I’m always trying to
find a way to add a little something extra, so why not try a
new version of “neutral?”
Have you always wanted a hot tub, but don’t want to sit in chemicals?
Much has changed in the world of hot tub chemistry. Maax Spas is
leading the way in medical and clinically designed spas. No more
bobbers, chlorine smell and fading bathing suits. No more salt either!
Pools across the country are switching away from salt as it is highly
corrosive to equipment and costly to maintain. Health Canada has
recently banned Bromide Salt Systems for their health risks and
associated risk of cancer. What’s left you ask? The Cleanzone
Ultra System from Maax Spas! It combines Uv and Ozone to create
“hydroxy radicals” shown to greatly reduce bacteria formation in
water. This system allows for minimal chemical requirements and is
Chlorine free as a hot tub can be. It brings your chlorine levels down
to 1ppm of chlorine. - the same as your bath water. Not to mention
your skin and bathing suit feel much better. Isn’t this the kind of spa
you would like to enjoy everyday? - RnR Hot Tubs and Spas, www.rnrhottubs.
