Peter cast his net the whole night to catch some fish but
he was unsuccessful. Jesus told him to cast the net again. Peter
thought in his heart that out of his 40 years of experience he
would not be able to get any fish even if he cast the net again.
But he cast it again for the sake of Jesus and he got a haul of 2
boats full of fish. One word from Jesus changed the situation.
In the same manner, a small miracle will change our life. God is
testing us to see whether we will pass the test. Yes. We will pass
the test and it will never affect us. Hallelujah! We will come out
victoriously with a power. We will be blessed with a life of abundance to such an extent that people only feel jealous of us. But
such a great power and blessing is being stopped by Law. We are
going to defeat our circumstances because we have power.
James 4: 6 says,
But he giveth more grace. …
The scripture says that God will give us more grace to
overcome our difficulties. But all through we have been taught
that in our difficulties, “His grace is sufficient.” Our faith on the
grace of Jesus gives us victory. More grace gives us more victory.
When Paul had a thorn in his flesh, a difficulty, God gave him
more grace to overcome it. And Paul overcame it.
Paul’s difficulty was that the Jews were troubling him wherever he went to preach. Paul was preaching the Word of Grace
so, the people of Law were obstructing him. When he prayed to
God in this difficulty, he got an answer, “My grace is sufficient
for thee”. It meant that Paul would be given power to overcome
and crush all the difficulties. But it has been misinterpreted for
years that when we are in our difficulties, his grace is sufficient.
Paul had such a great power that even his clothes could
heal the sick. So, will such a powerful man have a thorn in his
flesh? No. Even if he does have, will he not fight it out? Yes. So
we with faith on the grace should fight the thorn, the devil. And
he will flee from us. The world entertains a wrong notion that a
thorn is given to us to keep us grounded and not to be exalted.
This doctrine of a thorn in our flesh and God’s grace being sufficient is misleading us. So we have to pluck out this doctrine out
of our lives. Only the truth will set us free.
James 4 : 6 says,
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Who is a humble person? A humble person will love the
Word of God, obey God and accept God’s will to be done. A
proud person is one who says that he has everything and does
not want God. All of us who listen to the Word of God and
accept him are called as humble people. Those people, who
accept the Word of God, love his word, know that the earth
belongs to him, and are aware that only through him we will
