There’ s something about that first breath of fresh spring air that awakens a deep, primal urge to rip out a wall and renovate. Just as the grass starts to green, so too does the itch to build a new deck or give the backyard a fresh makeover.
Mandy and I have a running joke: every year we need to take on one " mini reno "( this year it ' s regraveling the cottage driveway and giving her craft room a glow-up), and every other year, one major project( ask me how the third bathroom addition is going— spoiler alert: slowly but surely!). Apparently, we’ ve passed this love of organized chaos on to the next generation— our 8 year old took it upon herself to deep clean and fully rearrange her bedroom last week, all on her own. Colour me seriously impressed!
There’ s a common misconception that renovations have to be grand, messy, and life disrupting. But sometimes, a reno is as simple as painting a feature wall, swapping out cabinet hardware, or finally updating those tired bathroom towels.
