beta waves - producing a state of relaxed wakefulness. In 1990,
research showed that music activates a part of the brain that
activates flow of memory material, “enabling the left and right
brain to work in unity rather than in opposition”.
Studies performed between 1989 and 1992, have proven that
music therapy can decrease excessive heart rate and high blood
pressure. One study showed that by relaxing adequately with
music as therapy, one can decrease the flight or fight reaction
objectively and measurably, by decreased blood pressure, pulse
rate and “warmer hands”. This has shown fewer complications in
hospitalized patients as well as shorter hospital stays. Music as
therapy has shown its ability to decrease the need for pain killers
and tranquilizers; minimizing side-effects of medication and
much more.

There are certain suggested “rules” to composing music with
healing intent, which is encouraged by research and which is
validated by our instinct, that music can aid healing. I will be
incorporating this element in my latest composition “Nocturne” to
be recorded in October 2013 for use in my exciting new Health
Reboot Program.
