Macstanley will be performing at the intimate Café Roux in Noordhoek this month. The audience will be taken on a melodic wave of sound as they hear all their favourite old Macstanley songs plus tracks off their acclaimed new album. As lead vocalist Andy Mac, and guitarists Neil Potgieter and Clinton Gahwiler, forms the band,formerly known as Flat Stanley. They have just released their third album, ‘Lucid, Alive and Dreaming’. The album, the group’s first in five years, was mastered in New York, and has been released in South Africa by 2 Feet Music, an imprint of Sheer Sound. “It’s a soundtrack to an authentic life, lived by authentic people, in which their wisdom is encapsulated in every lyric. There is something about the album that lingers, especially after listening to the haunting melodies in songs like ‘Seven Seas’ and ‘Stars’. Dependable songwriting and emphasis on choruses will have you singing along after a couple of listens. ‘Lucid, Alive and Dreaming’ is an uplifting melodic journey full of wisdom and promise. Definitely something to hold onto. Best Tracks: ‘Hold on’, ‘Evalene’, ‘Seven Seas’ and ‘Forgiveness’.
