F U L L C I R C L E P H O T O G R A P H Y • P E T E D U P R E E Z The Baboon While watching a group of paragliders soaring on a perfect West wind evening above Slangkop recently, this Kommetjie resident was surprised when an adult male baboon suddenly appeared on the rock next to her. She quietly moved off and left the site to the baboon. Air Stuff This pic was taken before dawn as an upper air low pressure system moved in towards the land with lots of electrical activity. It was taken from Long Beach Kommetjie and has not been ‘photoshopped’ at all. In Meteorological terms the rain in the pic is generally called Virga and never quite reaches the ground due to evaporation caused by the warm air in the lower atmosphere. After taking about 20 pics I raced up Slangkop and witnessed double rainbows,amazing lightning discharges as well as one of the rarest atmospheric occurences...blue and red ball lightning...slow travelling spheres of discharge FULL CIRCLE DIGITAL MAGAZINE AUGUST 2013
