Richard: Allot of our riders are sponsored by industry companies and get gear but they often need the gaps filled in as far as expenses, we try to help fill in those gaps. We also receive a ton of gear support from our team members that own companies, like Bombsquad, Evins, Crossroads, Waterloo, RIOT, Rock Louie, Riptide, Insanity Boardshop, Daves Hippy Oil and Baked to name just some. We are always looking for more help & assistance from the scene wherever we can get it.

Greg: Keeping the team competitive and traveling isn’t cheap but it’s worth every penny. There’s no better feeling than to see the team travel and make an impression. It feels great to get a Team member to Maryhill for their first time or help them enter a race that they otherwise wouldn’t be able to. This sport has given so much to me and my son Dawson it just feels right to give back.

Richard: We definitely love getting members of the team together and traveling. In the past year members of our Team have gone to Angies Curves, Maryhill, Soldiers Of Downhill, Davis City Downhill, Catalina, Carnage On The Coast, Guajataka, Cathlamet and Talimena just to name a few. We have members organizing trips to Whistler and even overseas to compete. The whole team is getting ready to go to Carnage On The Coast again in July in Florida. The team is a great way for us to get organized and mob races, always of course with the goal of the podium.

FB: Greg I’ve heard you mention your son a couple of times, tell us more.

Greg: My youngest son Dawson and I learned how to longboard together. It was hilarious when he was 11 we’d be in a garage sesh in an elevator at 2 in the morning and guys would do a double take when they saw this little guy. One time we got busted in a garage by the cops and Dawson said in the cutest voice he could muster, “Please Mr.Officer, Please let me skate with my Dad” and they let us go. It was classic! It’s been one of the cooler journeys I could’ve ever dreamed of as a father. The proudest achievements of my life were when Dawson and I won the BroBomb together in Austin 2 years ago and when we are part of the winning team at the SXSW Sector-9 Scavenger Hunt in Austin this year!

FB: Tell us about your races, we read recent articles in Concrete Wave & Wheelbase about them.

Richard: Racing is at the core of what we are all about. One of our phrases is “We Race We Win” and that’s not meant to be cocky. It means that we win because we race together. It’s all about being a Team, being family. The races we throw are awesome, efficient and done quickly. Our first outlaw garage races had about 20-30 racers and our last big one had well over 100 racers and was the largest outlaw garage race ever thrown in the United States. That is quite an accomplishment given that they are held in garages that we aren’t supposed to be in. As I always say at our racer meetings at Carve beforehand, “Lets treat this like a bank heist – in fast and quiet and out quickly.” Our garage races are fast and nasty and full contact. Beyond our garage races we support races when asked.
