Celebrating the industry 2017 has been somewhat of a milestone year for several companies working in the fuel oil distribution industry. Over the course of the year, Fuel Oil News has been delighted to share news of many special anniversaries, all bearing testament to the hard work and dedication that readily fuels our industry. Congratulations once again to Northern Energy, a family company which, having started out 85 years ago, has spent 60 years in oil. Ribble Fuel Oils, SS Motors and Stoddards have all enjoyed 50th anniversaries, with IFC Inflow and Kettlewell Fuels celebrating 30th anniversaries. Greenergy and LCC Oil reached their 25th and 20th anniversaries respectively, and bringing this celebratory year to a close, Highland Fuels marks its 60th anniversary in this issue. In a wide variety of In Conversation pieces, Fuel Oil News has celebrated new entrants Quad Fuels and interviewed new chiefs at Phillips 66, Certas Energy and Valero. This industry continues to look ahead and to innovate, with 2017 seeing the opening of the Thames OilPort, the upgrading of Valero’s Avonmouth terminal and LCC enhancing its Cloghan Point terminal with a £15m makeover.
