ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION. The Fort Lauderdale Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is an independent taxing district established by the Florida State Legislature in 1965. Led by an appointed board of directors, the DDA has spearheaded legacy projects over the past 50 years to stimulate and sustain economic development and livability in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. For Fiscal Year 2019, the DDA levied a 0.9335 millage rate on non-residential properties in its 350-acre district. VISION A vibrant, sustainable and inclusive world-class downtown. 6.
