The unique format of The Armidale School’s Forensic Science Camp, which is responsible for the intense atmosphere of realism that is created, was conceived by Kelland Hardingham, a science teacher at The Armidale School (TAS).
The first four-day camp for more than 100 talented/enthusiastic Year 8 science students in the North-West region of NSW began in 1993.
The Camp did not run through the second half of the 1990s but was relaunched in July 2001. Intelligent, enthusiastic Year 8 students from across Australia were invited to attend and they came. The camp was oversubscribed and has been each year since then.
Each year, the Camp at The Armidale School attracts students from all corners of the eastern states and students rate the camp as one of the best weeks of their lives. The fact that it is run by Year 9 and 10 students, who are drawn from the previous year, makes the camp a unique educational and leadership experience.
