Friendship Scans was founded on April 1st, 2012 by the Legendary Cat: Lady Catriona with 1 starting project and 1 active staff. YES!! ONE ACTIVE STAFF. Legendary as she is, by the 28 of the same month and year, Friendship Scans staffs reached from 1 to 20 active staffs (most dedicated and respectful people) with 8 ongoing unique projects and 5 consistent releases.
And just like any other great Empire, it collapsed.
Tsukiko; the Moon Goddess ,one of the pioneer Translators recruited by the Legendary Cat, and tho newbie as she may be, equipped with only her powerful pen and ink, she set forward and plunge into the depth of scary frightening vicious full of blood world of Scanlation as Friendship Scans new Admin.
As shadows of fears lurk beneath, doubts and fears lingering from the painful memories of how the once glorious empire falls down, she gathered her strength & courage and rebuilt the fallen empire from its remnants and built her own army to defend its fortress.
Little by little, fearlessly strong armies joined and to further strengthen its defense force, Friendship Scans merged with Misty Rain Scans thus forming an impenetrable stronghold fortress.
A long long time ago... I can still remember...
It was 2012? In the summer time, when bored out of her mind from unemployment and lack of social interation, Maf started reading manga again. "I rarely read any manga anymore" thought Maf "but when I used to read scanlations, I used to read all the time. Looking at my book shelves, most of the manga I bought were brought to me through scanlations. I should read some more!"
At that time, a certain artist on tumblr had a thing for mongols and Maf was also drawn in by the hot bishies she drew. "I wonder thought Maf, if there is some manga with mongols in" so away to bakaupdates, using their tags she discovered a little gem called Li Ren Man. "Wow I really love this" thought Maf "but it's been so long since a release, I better go check out their website" so off Maf went to the old friendship scans. Here she found a handy little chatroom, which was inhabited by two people she got talking to, one was called Pink and the other was called Tsukiko. Tsukiko was in south America being bitten by mosquitos so she didn't have time to try and recruit Maf. However thankfully pink was there to save the day.
She hired Maf and Maf typesetted some Li Ren Man. Then however Friendship scans died. Maf decided to jump the sinking ship and join Pink's group Misty Rain. However that wasn't enough for Maf, she wanted her own group, so stealing an unused forum off Friendship scans, she created Karakoren scans, doing her favourite projects, Prince of the Night and Dragon Pearl Boy.
Then once again, the tides turned. Tsu appeared again and offered to meld us all into one big friendship scans group. Maf wasn't sure, but with enough cajoling from Tsu she agreed! All the projects from Misty Rain and Karakoren became part of Friendship scans.
In order to get the new projects out quickly Maf was quickly upgraded to Qcer and under Tsu's righteous hand of justice, she has never left.
Over the years she has accumulated many nicknames, mainly to do with her innate pervertedness but don't worry she's harmless.
