4) Purge it
Purge that bag ladies. We are all guilty of carrying an extreme amount of items in our bag. The truth is, we really do not need over half of what we carry. Open up that bag and dump it out and sift threw the chaos. You will quickly learn you carry way too much useless stuff. It is a bag ,not a dumpster for receipts of purchases past, not a storage facility for every lip gloss shade launched by the cosmetic industry this spring, or even worse. You might be so busy that you have the endless pile of snacks living in your bag. Your handbag is not a grocery store aisle ladies.
5) Relocate it
What should you carry in your bag? Streamline your life and only carry the essentials. Find a new home for the kitchen sink, you do not need to carry it with you. The four hundred page novel you are currently reading is extra weight you are lugging all around your world. If you enjoy reading on the go, invest in a reader to download that novel to. Your shoulders and back will thank you for lightening the load you are carrying.
6) Organize it
After you have completed the purging, relocating of items and the task of determining what items you REALLY need to continue to carry, the time has come to organize them into categories. Keep your handbag clutter free and under control by purchasing a few different size make up bags and wallets. These organizational tools are very cheap and found at just about every retailer under the sun. Create a few categories and place all coordinating items into the properly selected pouch. I have found the following categories work best for me: Make up, snacks, medications, toiletries, wallet essentials and other.
7) Reorganize it
Once you have all the contents neat and tidy, reorganize the bag. Place items you will not use daily on the bottom of the bag, such as the newly developed medication pouch. Your wallet should go on top of your pile, as this is the one tool you are going to grab most often.
8) Store it
If you are multiple bag loving gal and own a plethora of bags, store them properly when not in use. Bags when stored incorrectly accumulate dust and look old before their time. Wrap them in tissue paper to keep dust off of them and protect them from any type of harsh temperature changing environment.
9) Who knew
Did you know... the bag you carry is recommended to weigh 10% of your total body weight? If you follow this rule you will always flaunt your handbag in style, looking proportioned, balanced and accessory awesome.
10) Stranger danger
Unfortunately bag robberies do exist. As women we need to protect ourselves from this senseless act of crime. Keep yourself safe by carrying as little identification as possible. Don't carry all your credit cards on you. You only need to carry one card. This is both financially smart, by not allowing yourself to fall victim of a senseless purchases that may lead to high debt and buyers remorse. It will also keep you safe from becoming a statistic. A simple rule of thumb is only carry in your bag items that can be replaced easily, and never carry your social security card or important documents such as birth certificates or passports unless these items are needed for a specific purpose.
Knowledge is power, now you are bag prepared and ready to rock that bag you love with clean, organized style.
