Born and raised in Haiti’s
capitol city of Port-au-Prince,
Lubinacci was one of the
fortunate ones who wasn’t
restricted by the stranglehold
of poverty. His parents worked
hard to make sure that the
family was blessed with all the
necessities of life.
“The country was very poor, but I
wasn’t living in poverty because
my parents were hardworking
people,” Lubinacci recalls. “My
upbringing was very blessed. I
wasn’t suffering, but I saw the
struggle. I saw the poverty, but
my parents were strict. And
they wanted better for me. I
wasn’t rich, but I damn sure
wasn’t poor.”
Lubinacci was first introduced
to music by his uncle who was
well known as a successful
entrepreneur. On the weekends,
his uncle would blast music on
huge speakers for the entire
neighborhood to hear.
“My

Lubinacci
explains.
“He

that he lived in and

there. He was a go-getter. So
I followed every step that he
used to do. I learned from him.

During his early teen years,
Lubinacci immigrated to Dade
County, Florida with relatives.
To the United States, Lubinacci
brought with him that never-
ending hustle and a never-
dying love for music. He started
writing rap lyrics and middle
school and continued to hone
his craft through high school.
“The transition from Haiti to
the United States made me
closer to music,” he admits.
“The music kept me occupied.
It kept me focused.”
After graduation, he enlisted

“I don’t have any genre,” says
Lubinacci. “That would only

music. There are too many
elements, too many layers to be
defined.”
