HEALTHCARE IT IMAGING STRATEGIES OVERVIEW.
When one organization joins forces with another, there are essentially three approaches to
an enterprise imaging strategy. These include “rip and replace,” centralized storage, and
cross-enterprise federated architecture. Each of these approaches has its pluses and minuses,
and no one approach is the answer for all organizations.
If you have a strategy in mind that works for your organization, you can be ready to help
structure the healthcare IT that will help you accomplish your objectives, and to the extent
that it is possible to do so, have some say in the future. If you are not prepared, you will be
playing catch-up. And in these uncertain times of consolidation, the one thing we can all
count on is change. So like the Scouts, it’s a good idea always to “be prepared.”
