THE STAGES

OF DEVELOPMENT

Stage 1: Active Start

For most parents this stage might be seen as a waste of time but for the 3 to 5 year old this stage can be seen as one of the most critical periods in a player's long term development and should be seen as the starting/ building blocks that will lay foundations as the player progresses through the continuum.

All I want to do is develop a love for this game.

Stage 2: Fundamentals

One of the greatest managers that was in the premier league and responsible for changing the professionalism of the game once said 'You build a player like you build a house. You start with the foundations. The FUNdamentals.

Some will say that its not true as the roof of a house can be completed first and just be left to the end to put on, yes that might be true but the risk of error will also increase.

Yes I might be small and need a break every 10 to 15 minutes but while you think I am not listening to the coach I am developing my fine motor skills. I don't like to share because I want to work on my ball familiarization and dribbling skills.

I do not like complicated exercises and happy to repeat exercises if they are fun. I do not like long explanations or instructions, I just want to play.

I love games that are full of imagination and when i can be the pirate its just the best.
