Stage 1: Unconscious Incompetence

In this stage we don't know what we don't know

Are we creatures of habit or are we just stuck in a fixed mindset? Most people will live their lives stuck in a cycle of repeat where they notice only the negative aspects of their immediate environment and spend their time thinking and speaking negatively.

Stage 2: Conscious Incompetence

In this stage we know what we don't know.

They become

comfortable with the way things are done. Any change can be seen as a threat instead of an opportunity.

When coaches or players are in this stage it can become very difficult to bring in new ideas especially if their actions had good results or success in the past. These coaches and players may also adopt the "if its not broken don't fix it" mindset.

Learning and innovation go hand in hand. The arrogance of success is to think that what you did yesterday will be sufficient for tomorrow
