Reedy High School freshman Emerson Palazzo (left) has a big heart for students
with special needs. Inspired by friends with autism, she started researching the
benefits of flexible seating in special education classrooms as part of seventh-grade
class project. Three years later, she has collected nearly $3,200 and donated more
than 350 yoga balls to 85 schools in Frisco and Plano ISDs.

Frisco ISD
Lebanon Trail High School students
participate in the Adopt-a-Street program
in Frisco in which residents agree to clean
up a one-mile stretch of road. Members of
the Lebanon Trail wrestling team did their
part by cleaning up along Ohio Drive.
MAKING AN IMPACT
Frisco ISD schools give back to the community and world in many
ways, large and small. A range of activities teach students the
importance of service, citizenship and compassion for others.
Here are just a few examples of how FISD students and staff are
making a difference for worthy causes and people in need.
Students at Purefoy Elementary participate
in several kindness projects throughout the
year. The campus collected nearly $11,000
and more than 400 books for DeQueen
Elementary in Port Arthur, Texas, one of
many schools hit hard by Hurricane Harvey.
Sports teams throughout
FISD often give back
to the community by
participating in service
projects throughout
the school year. The
Liberty High School boys
basketball team helped
set up the pumpkin patch
at Grace Avenue United
Methodist Church.
