Church Donates
$68,000 to Frisco ISD
Schools
First Baptist Frisco is making a difference
on every campus in the District.
First Baptist Frisco is sharing the love.
“This is not a joke!” Mark Caswell wrote
in an email to principals, notifying them
his church planned to give $1,000 to each
of the 68 schools in Frisco ISD.
“They’ve just been speechless,”
Caswell said, describing school staff as
he delivered check after check to cam-
puses across FISD.
The money comes with no strings at-
tached – schools can spend it however
they want.
“Some principals told me they plan to
buy Chromebooks or alternative seating,”
Caswell said. “Others are using it to buy
materials for STEM projects in the library.”
Caswell, minister of serve teams at
First Baptist Frisco, said the $68,000 do-
nation is just the beginning of the church’s
outreach to Frisco ISD schools. He’s mo-

each campus, assisting in whatever ways
the school may need. Church members
may serve as mentors or reading bud-
dies, put away library books or pitch in
with landscaping.
“First Baptist Frisco wants to serve
the community in tangible ways,” Caswell
said. “We plan to do that by showing up,
making friends and learning about how
we can help.”
The cash donations are kicking off
the effort, as Caswell and others start
building relationships and volunteering
on campus.
At Trent Middle School, the church has
already provided school supplies and food
for students in need. Trent will distribute
its $1,000 to teachers in the form of small
classroom grants.
“Our teachers spend a lot of their own
money to do really neat things for our
kids,” said Trent Principal Shawn Perry. “It
means a lot to have an outside group step
up and show that they value what we do.”
Caswell says it’s a way for First Baptist
Frisco to give back and say thanks for
the great work happening in Frisco ISD
schools.
“We want principals to know that we
appreciate all their hard work and that
they have our complete support in any
way we can assist them, their students
or teachers,” he said.
Frisco ISD is grateful for the donations
and message they send.
“We truly have a pack mentality at Trent
and education is a team effort,” Perry said.
“Community support is paramount to us
being successful.” n
