Funding Education
Larger tax receipts aren’t adding up
to more money per student to operate
Frisco ISD schools, due to the way Texas
funds public education. As the tax base
grows and more revenue for schools is
generated locally, the state reduces its
share of funding. Increasingly, Frisco ISD
taxpayers are paying more and more of
the total bill, while the state pays less. The
money the state would have appropriated
to education is spent elsewhere.
