When in the last years of the decade of 1910 the Liebig accused the desemerro caused by the result of the First World War, the establishment was on the verge of closing, until in 1920 there was a business that gave rise to what was the ANGLO FROM URUGUAY, with purely English capital.

The Anglo worked as a refrigerator until 1979 and then it was closed.

In June 1989, the central part of the refrigerator was declared a "National Historical Monument". Part of it became a museum, and the rest of the facilities were transformed into a Municipal Industrial Park, where small businesses operate.
