Dear Friends :
In the wake of the pandemic , the success of our students in completing a certificate , diploma , or degree remains the College ’ s top priority . Every day at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College , I see hopes and dreams become reality across the region . In May , nearly 2,000 students graduated , and seeing the joy and pride on the faces of our students and their loved ones always reminds me of how important our work is .
NWTC believes that all students can succeed and is committed to continuing to build an inclusive environment . To meet the needs of our students , we offer new programs and services . The creation of academic credentials along with modifying and “ rightsizing ” existing programs ensures the economic strength of area businesses and communities . This year , we rolled out the Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees — which create seamless pathways to a bachelor ’ s degree in our region , guaranteeing transfer with junior status to our university partners , University of Wisconsin Green Bay and Oshkosh , St . Norbert College , and Lakeland University . Many other colleges and universities will also accept these graduates as juniors . Fostering and advancing partnership with our bachelor ’ s degree graduating partners is crucial to ensuring the long-term economic strength of our region and aids in creating a vibrant , diverse , and educated population in our community .
Continued dedication to continuous improvement has led the College to explore more advanced technologies . Industry 4.0 and the merging of smart technologies and business practices are revolutionizing the ways things are made and done in Northeast Wisconsin . By bringing together innovative problem-solving processes and technologies , NWTC is leading our region into a dynamic future . We are reimagining the manner in which learning is delivered by creating new ways of providing content , utilizing new technologies such as augmented and virtual reality , and integrating core skills regarding communication and collaboration in all of our courses .
In this issue of Friends , you will find stories about our growth of Industry 4.0 pillars in data analytics and additive manufacturing , the expansion of course curriculum to create more seamless pathways for students , and innovations within individual subject areas . You will also learn more about our amazing students , who continuously overcome barriers to soar to greater heights . We share these stories in celebration of our students and the communities we serve . We thank you for your continued support of Northeast Wisconsin Technical College .
