Christine Bekyir, executive assistant for the Talent and Culture Department and Paralegal Studies program graduate, received the 2025 Future 15 Award from the Greater Green Bay Chamber in March. The award recognizes the top young professionals for their exceptional achievements and contributions to the community.
Leon Charnetski, HVACR( Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) instructor, was named one of the Top 25 Most Influential Instructors / Trainers of 2026 by HVAC Excellence and TruTech Tools. The honor recognizes individuals who are“ making a meaningful impact through their exceptional teaching and training efforts.”
Mai Vang, part-time instructor in the Leadership Development and Business Management programs and NWTC alumna, was named one of Madison365’ s 20 Most Influential Asian American Leaders in Wisconsin for 2025. In addition to her role at NWTC, Vang is the director of recruitment and talent development for the Green Bay Area Public School District.
In April, NWTC celebrated its distinction as one of the top 10 community colleges in the nation as a finalist for the 2025 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence.
College leaders joined peers from across the nation at the award ceremony, held at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D. C., where finalists were honored for their exceptional impact in advancing student success. Meanwhile, on the Green Bay campus, faculty, staff, and students held an awards ceremony watch party( pictured below).
