September
Rudbeckia fulgida ‘Goldsturm’
A really good clump forming perennial, showing off a mass of brown-eyed daisy
like flowers with rich yellow petals. Excellent planted en masse for a real blast of
colour towards the end of summer. Makes an attractive cut flower. Dead head
regularly to increase blooms. Look out for this one in our Ornamental Garden.
October
Anemone x hybrida ‘ Honorine Jobert’
(Japanese Anemone)
A Japanese Anemone usually still giving interest at this time of year. Single white
flowers arch out from dark green vine like leaves. They are especially excellent for
brightening up a shady spot in the garden, although they can tolerate sun, the
flowers look much better out of direct sun light. We have propagated this from
plants in the Ornamental Garden.
November
Hesperantha coccinea
(River Lily) ‘Big Mama’
A stunning clump forming lily, though actually from the iris family, which bears
masses of pink flowers over sword shaped leaves from September until
December. This is really worth growing due to the longevity of the flowers. It
would also be great for a cut flower. We have propagated this from plants within
The Garden.
