Our pre-recorded lectures are released twice a week ( Those for Monday to Wednesday are released on Monday while those that are scheduled for Thursday and Friday are released on Thursday ). I found this to be super beneficial in a way that you have room to move at your own pace depending on how available and motivated you are . I usually like to do about 2 or 3 pre-recorded lectures per day ( depending on the content , difficulty , and length of the lecture ).
At 3 PM , I go for an outdoor lunch with whoever I am attending the library with .
5:00 PM- 7:00 PM At this time , my flatmates and I like to enjoy our evenings by going for a walk at Sefton park , heading into town for some shopping , running a few errands ( i . e . groceries ), or meeting with other flats ( keeping in mind to respect the restrictions in place at the time !) After a day ’ s worth of studying , it is important to take a break . Taking care of your mental health should be one of your main priorities . Starting your first year of university , especially during COVID times could be emotionally and mentally straining- It is crucial to reach out to academic advisors , friends , family , and the wellbeing team whenever you feel that it may be beneficial to you .
7:00 PM- 8:00 PM At this time , I like to eat my dinner and watch TV with my flat . As someone who does not enjoy cooking every day , I have found meal-prepping to be a lifesaver . On Sundays , I cook seven meals for the week ( i . e . chicken breast , mixed vegetables , etc ) and store them in the freezer to be heated and eaten each day .
8:00 PM - 9:30 PM At this time , I get started on making Quizlet flashcard sets for the lectures I watched in the afternoon ( some medics prefer Anki ). I found this method to be super helpful in three ways : First , it acts as a revision of the content I learned in the morning . Second , when exam time comes around , I do not find myself stressing over making flashcards then having to come around and study them . Last , whenever I have any spare time during the year , I quickly review a few older sets so that my knowledge of earlier blocks remains sharp .
9:30 PM - 11 : 00 PM If I decide to stay in that night , usually my flat and I will watch a movie or keep each other company . I also try to get in a chapter of any book I enjoy . This is the time I will find myself planning my next day ’ s to-do list . When I find myself needing a break ( especially on the weekends ), I like to go out and grab food and drinks with my social bubble to end the day off on a high note . I like to go to sleep by 11 or 12 so that when I wake up at 7 the next day , I will be fully rested with 8 hours of sleep .
