“ Tough Mudder was a great challenge , and really was a team event . We all had to work as a team mentally and physically to get people over the finish line . I have signed up for a half marathon on the 12 March and completing Tough Mudder again in May this year . As a team we finished in the top 5 % for fundraising with Just Giving which confirmed all the hard work we put it to train and also raise the money .”
“ Tough Mudder isn ’ t something I ’ d ever have signed up for , Neill came up with the idea and being a competitive bunch , six of us signed up . The training was relentless but we made it as fun as we could in the freezing rain . Every session we reminded ourselves of what we ’ d raised and why we were doing it . It really does push you out of any comfort zone you may have and some things I never thought I ’ d do I manage to get through with the help of my colleagues . I ’ ve signed up for the London to Brighton bike ride with my partner so that will be a test for us to go over the line together !”
Giving Something Back Heroes
Spotlight on our Development Counties team
Last year Neill Tickle , Gemma Harper , Ashton Freeman , Jennie Slate , Tanya Vines and Kara Clark from our Development Counties Team took part in the gruelling Tough Mudder Challenge for Fresh Visions . They raised an incredible £ 5635 to support the charity . Here we catch up with the team to find out about their experience and hear why they would encourage other colleagues to Give Something Back to Fresh Visions .
Tough Mudder is such a challenging event - How did you and the team keep motivated ? It is great to work within a team . On those days when training is the last thing you want to do your colleagues help motivate you and , of course , you put in the effort yourself as you don ’ t want to let them down . The support people showed us with their generous donations was fantastic . We ’ re all proud of the money we raised for Fresh Visions .
Do you have a message for those thinking about fundraising for Fresh Visions ? I ’ d say go for it ! Talk to your colleagues , perhaps at a Team Meeting , and come up with something together that ’ s fun and pushes you outside of your comfort zone . Making money to help those that need support is an added bonus .
