Partner of The Month
Tell me about yourself?
We met as freshmen at Lincoln University in
Jefferson City, Missouri-college sweethearts who
graduated together and married five months
later. Reggie grew up outside of Pittsburgh in
Edenborn, Pennsylvania. Regina grew up in
Gary, Indiana which is outside of Chicago, Illinois. Before coming to Houston the place where
God wanted us to be-we lived in Aliquippa,
Pennsylvania, St. Louis, Missouri and San Antonio, Texas. Reggie was employed for Missouri Pacific Railroad and under some unusual circumstances they gave us a choice of cities to relocate.
We were young with two children and choose
Houston, not knowing anyone. God knew his
plans for us and as, a result of our choice our
family members (all of Regina’s siblings and
mom) and life long friends moved to Houston
one, by one.
What are your favorite scriptures?

How would you describe your prayer life?
We live a life of prayer. Prayer is our life line.
How has prayer changed your life?
Without prayer-we would not have a life. I
cannot imagine how we would have overcome
a variety of life circumstances. Prayer prepares
you to face life challenges, so that God gets the
glory in all aspects of your life. A life of prayer
give you power and ability to witness.
What would you say are the benefits of having
an active prayer life?
Having an active prayer life gives you an intimate relationship with God,. As, a believer-life
is a journey and on this journey we plan, we set

goals, we seek to do the rights things however, you
do not know what will be your next joy, sorrow, trial
or tribulation. When the storms of life knock at
your door- with an active prayer life you able to with
stand the turmoil’s of life. God is the only one that
knows the future With our hands in his hand, trusting & communing with him -he allows us to walk
thru this life abundantly.
If you could give some advice to someone considering joining the ministry what would it be?
If, you are serious about your walk with God, your
prayer life, your desire to be whole-Genesis is the
church for you. After, thirty two years of following
Pastor Williams leadership-ask God to show you his
heart this will settle any doubts.
What drew you to the Genesis Church?
With hind sight you have 20/20 vision. When we
moved to Houston in 1980-a co-worker invited us to
Antioch Baptist Church, Rev. John Hill Westbrook
was the pastor, It was thru his passing- God gave
us Pastor Williams. Reggie grew up in the Baptist
church. Regina grew up in the Methodist denomination (C.M.E.Church) and had never been in church
turmoil or voted for a pastor. We voted for Pastor
Williams & this vote changed our life and walk with
God. Pastor Williams is truly God’s man and teaches
God’s word so you can clearly apply it to your daily
living.
