2015 MXON © JAANUS REE/RED BULL CONTENT POOL £ One of the unexpected stars of the 2015 MXoN was New Zealand’s Ben Townley. The now semi-retired rider showed true grit all weekend, but he really did the Kiwis proud in the final race of the day in Ernée. Townley exploded out of the gate and led the first part of the race. After a few laps Febvre made his inevitable pass on the NZ legend, but Townley displayed maximum levels of passion, never backed down and stuck with the MXGP World Champion until the end of the race, finishing in a well-deserved second place ahead of USA’s Justin Barcia in third, much to the delight of the Kiwi fans. © JUAN PABLO ACEVEDO Ben Townley @bt1zero1 Ernee turned it on again this year, crowd was absolutely huge and the noise they made for their home riders was mental. All around it was a mega weekend, Team NZ ended up 8th overall which was a great achievement for us 3 and the whole team that helped put it all together. Got to say a huge Thanks to Dave Thorpe and the entire @hondaracingmx for their effort. They bent over backwards to make it happen for us and I truly appreciate it lads !
