£ The MXoN did not go according to plan for British rider Max Anstie, who suffered a horrific crash in Ernée. The MX 2 rider’s weekend came to an end when he was landed on by Austria’s Pascal Rauchenecker, after stalling his Kawasaki on the big triple step-down during Saturday’s qualifying race. Anstie was knocked unconscious and broke his shoulder blade, as well as the T3 vertebra in his back. Max is set to make a full recovery, but the incident was a heartbreaker for Team GB, as this year’s team had some serious potential to be a Chamberlain Cup contender. The incident meant Great Britain only had two riders representing on the Sunday, which made a podium result next to impossible. We wish Max all the best with his recovery and can’t wait to see him back out on the bike soon. 76 | FreestyleXtreme.com © HONDA RACING CORPORATION / BAVO Shaun Simpson @shaunsimpson24 Tough weekend for Team GB - after all my batters and bruises I still managed to ride to 5th overall in the MX1 Class but we could only manage 18th as a Team as some strange rules regarding a team with only 2 riders seen us pushed down the order. With @Maxanstie riding we were sure to fill the 3rd step on the podium. Easy. Heal up soon mate. Shout out to @deanwilson15 too... Good job and good times had in France... See you soon mate...
