IDING MOTOCROSS IN MID-WINTER
can be a challenge in some parts of
Europe. As the relentless rain and
snow comes in, the days get shorter
and many practice tracks struggle to
keep open through the wettest months. This of
course keeps riders looking for an alternative
solution to those all too familiar, freezing cold
mud bath sessions. And here it is…
Deep in the Tyrol region of the Austrian Alps
lays a playground like no other. Area 47 is
one of Europe’s largest action sports resorts.
Amongst a huge range of crazy activities
they have on offer at this adrenaline-fuelled
paradise, is one of the best indoor supercross
practice facilities in Europe. The 120m x 30m
track is designed for riders of all levels, but
with a mix of tabletops, triples, whoops and
timing sections, Area 47 also offers Europe’s
supercross elite and professional riders a
legitimately demanding training facility. And if
you and your crew want the place to yourselves
for the afternoon, you can even hire out the
entire hall for a pr etty reasonable cost.

The winter season at Area 47 officially
gets underway on October 24th with a big
supercross event to kick things off. Forty of
Europe’s best international riders like Gregory
Aranda, Carl Ostermann, Lukas Neurauter,
Julian Judina, Florian Hellrigl and many more
will be on the riders list. As if that wasn’t
enough, Red Bull FMX athlete Luc Ackermann,
together with Lukas “Skywalker” Weis will
fill the race breaks with world class freestyle
motocross demos.
See you in Austria! T
