After the epic Gymkhana
7: Wild in The Streets of
Los Angeles exploded
onto the internet at the
end of 2014, Ken Block
decided to get back to some
old school rally racing
for the start of his 2015
season. Teaming up with
co-driver Alex Gelsomino,
Block entered the opening
round of the New Zealand
Rally Championship
in Whangarei on the
North Island. The pair
killed it across all three
days, and with a final
time of 2:54:53.6, Block
convincingly took the win
in his Hoonigan Racing
Division Ford Fiesta HFHV
rally car. His victory
also made him the first
non-Kiwi to ever win the
Whangarei rally.
