through close to twenty different ramp
changes on the Triple Flip ramp alone
and although it wasn’t cheap or easy,
I’ve never had more fun with failures!
And speaking of elevating the
sport, Josh Sheehan just landed
the first ever Triple Backflip…
Sheeny flew in from Australia to
Maryland to do the Triple. He only
had four days total in his schedule
between events and the BAGJUMP
landing was stuck in customs until
the day he got there. I drove him from
the arrivals terminal to the baggage/
customs terminal in DC to get both
of our prototype 2000lb bags and
about 1000lbs in experimental top
sheets. We got back to the house at
around 4pm and it took us until just
past midnight to set it up, despite
enlisting the help of athletes, camera
guys, two of the main guys from
BAGJUMP, the Wessel Built crew,
Hubert and a couple of friends from
the Maryland A-Team. Everyone
was pulling with everything we had,
ratchet strapping those bags up a 25foot tall scaffolding one inch at a time.
It was well below freezing outside and
none of us had eaten, but not a single
person complained. They were calling
for snow to come in at noon the next
day and this was our only chance to
get it done before the film came out.
At sunup the next morning, with only
five hours of sleep and after having
travelled for 22 hours (on a ticket that
he paid for himself) Sheeny was able
to ride away from a Triple Backflip.
The snow and rain came in just a
few hours later and by then he was
already on a plane to his next event.
Sheeny truly is an action figure and
I couldn’t have been more proud
of everyone involved for making it
happen.
Hope you guys like watching the film
as much as we enjoyed making it. It’s
like a 55-minute YouTube highlight
reel... only better!
Job well done and we can’t wait to
see the film!
Thank you. T
