SPOT CHECK DIRTPARK OCATED IN THE SOUTH of Hungary, Dirtpark first opened its gates in 2009. The facility comprises of an American-sized MX track (built to FIM GP specs); a small (quad-bike friendly) MX track with alternative lines for beginners; a supercross track; an endurocross track and a traditional enduro circuit. There has even been a space set aside for an FMX area to be built in the future. As well as always being prepped and graded, the tracks at Dirtpark are constantly being improved and updated. “Every year we want to give something new to our guests,” explains Dirtpark owner Balázs Hoffmann. L The tracks at Dirtpark were built by Dirt Wurx – the guys behind the US supercross tracks. “This valley wouldn’t be so breathtaking without the experience Rich Winkler and his professional team of builders,” Balázs tells us. “Americans simply think differently. They dare to dream big and that is exactly what appealed to me. Never in my life would I have thought about using these hills the way they did.” “This is the biggest motocross track we have ever built,” explains Rich Winkler, CEO of Dirt Wurx USA. “The track is bigger and badder than most US national tracks! We are really proud to be a part of this project.” One factor that sets Dirtpark apart from the majority of motocross tracks out there is the long list of home comforts and facilities that are available to riders on site; hot showers, good toilets, free wifi, a campsite, a big fireplace, electricity, security and even a pool! For riders who have travelled a long way and are staying for a few days, this is a big plus! Dirtpark attracts both amateur and pro riders from Hungary as well as the surrounding countries of Slovenia, Croatia and Austria. “But we have had Swedish, Finnish, English, American, Russian and even South African guests already,” Balázs tells us. “This year we got some enquiries from riders wishing to visit from as far away as Brazil and Australia.” u FreestyleXtreme.com | 29
