On 21st April 2015 Jackson Strong’s
new film ‘Headstrong’ was released
on iTunes. Two years in the making,
Headstrong was produced by fellow
Aussies Lance and Lachlan Russell
of Russell Brothers Films, and within
a few days of its release, the film was
crushing the iTunes charts.
Jackson ‘Jacko’ Strong has always
been known for pushing it on a dirt
bike. He is one of the few riders in the
world to have successfully mastered
the Front Flip and he has competed
in the biggest contests in the world,
including X Games and X-Fighters.
Jacko is one of the craziest riders on
the Metal Mulisha team and as such
more than worthy of his own full length
film!
Headstrong is actually quite different
to most ‘athlete films’ that get made.
The hand-made and self-released style of action sports
movies gives them an honesty that we love, but means we
don’t always have a steady flow of feature-length content.
We’re spoilt for choice at the moment though, with four new
films featuring amazing footage from all sides of the globe.
You won’t see much ‘baby footage’ or
hear the stories of Jacko winning his
local swimming rally as a boy. Instead
the film just explodes with some of the
best FMX sections from SoCal we’ve
seen for a while. Locations include
Ronnie Faisst’s compound, Fitzland,
Maddo’s park, Brian Deegan’s Metal
Mulisha Compound and Jacko’s
compound back home in Lockhart,
Australia.
After seeing the horrific footage of
Strong’s left leg following his fireworks
accident (the incident that heavily
delayed the making of the film)
Headstrong builds towards an epic
final section. To finish the film in style
and prove the doctors wrong, Jacko
builds one of the sickest ‘Shuie’ style
dirt lines out there. We don’t want to
give too much away, so let’s just say
this section will blow your mind!
We have to give props to the Russell
Brothers for doing such an awesome
job putting this film together.
Headstrong flows nicely, has a great
soundtrack, unbelievable riding and
has been edited to near perfection.
Throughout the film fellow riders and
FMX icons share their thoughts on
Jacko, but we felt it might have been
nice to hear a few more words from the
man himself. We highly recommend
