W
ELCOME BACK TO ANOTHER actionpacked issue of the FreestyleXtreme
magazine!
The big news since our last issue is of
course Josh Sheehan conquering the
unthinkable Triple Backflip. We were
so stoked to see Sheeny land such an
insanely innovative and high-risk trick
- and we had to give him the cover shot for this issue! We also have a
really interesting, exclusive interview with Travis Pastrana (p. 54), where we
quiz him in depth about the Triple Flip and his new Nitro Circus film: Action
Figures.
Here in the UK we’ve seen the launch of a new grass-roots level Pro/Am
FMX series called Dirt Junkies, organised by myself and my buddy Ben
Robinson. Round 1 has just gone down near London, with two more rounds
later this summer. The idea behind the series is to help build a platform for
riders to break into FMX and progress their riding to a level where they can
compete on the international stage. To help put this idea into practice, the
crew at NIGHT of the JUMPs are offering the winner of the UK Pro FMX
class a ride at the London leg of their World Championships. Dirt Junkies
was heavily inspired by the Australian and Japanese national FMX series,
and we hope to see more nations get inspired to hold contests for their upand-coming FMX riders.
I am typing this on the eve of the 2015 X Games, and everyone in the office
is super excited to see what goes down this year, especially Jeff! I would like
to take this opportunity to give a massive big up to X Games for adding Real
Moto to the agenda for 2015. The X Games Real Snow and Real Skate edits
are often the sickest videos to be made all year for their respective sports,
so whatever happens, don’t miss the first year of Real Moto when the edits
drop in August! We will have a full X Games wrap-up in the next edition.
I hope you enjoy this issue!
