Are you still riding much
supermoto these days?
I haven’t ridden supermoto for
so long – actually my supermoto
bike got recycled into a track day/
road race type of bike. A lot of the
suspension and sh*t I saved and I
ended up making a short tracker
out of it. I’ve kind of been messing
around a bit with flat track racing
lately. It’s an area of motorcycles
that I never really got to do properly
before. It’s a lot of fun! I grew up
riding motocross first, so I was lucky
in that respect. I think if you ride
moto, you can kind of adapt to other
things around it quite easily. I like
to try a bit of everything you know.
It’s so much fun to try every type
of bike and every type of racing at
least once.
Cool – so will you be entering
some flat track races?
Yeah for sure! I actually rode one
short track race last year with some
old friends. One of them was this
dude that used to have an old car
club that I was in as a ‘young lad’
and he races vintage flat track, so
I packed up and headed out with
them. It was a good time man, I
liked it! It really is my type of racing;
it was all over and done in three
hours – then we were just drinking
beers with everybody and swapping
stories after racing. It’s a cool, lowkey, dirtball style community. There
was a lot of down-to-earthiness,
sh**ty bikes and good times!
Sounds awesome! What’s your
favourite trick to throw on a
dirtbike?
Nac-Nac’s. Absolutely the best trick
to throw. I like that one – I always
have. It’s a trick that is really hard to
do properly. It’s a pretty basic trick,
but for it to really look good you
need to put some extra stuff into it.
It’s got a lot of heritage as well you
know, with BMX, McGrath and sh*t
like that.
Where do you think FMX will be
in five years’ time? Where do you
see the tricks going?
In general, I’d just like to see it
still going in five years’ time haha.
Whatever it’s doing, I will be cool
with that.
Favourite FMX film of all time?
[Whistles] …. Favourite of all time?
I don’t usually play favourites but
I have a soft spot for Wrath Child.
That one was proper! Troy [Adamitis]
is such a good director. All the
parts were good, the timing and
soundtrack and s**t… That video
was good for sure. There have
been many other great ones, sorry
everybody [laughs], but that was the
one I liked the most.
Thanks for your time man
Thanks man. Sorry for rambling, you
guys did ask though… [laughing] T

I’m learning. I like working with my
hands and brain together. It’s like art
but I get to learn some different sh*t
at the same time. But yeah, the bike
turned out cool, and we even got
it running [laughs]. This was after it
had just been sitting for nearly two
fu**ing decades. My old man helped
out a little too. He’s pretty good with
a wrench and getting things running.
