meeting with a pretty positive
feeling. Although it sounds like
the underground scene in France
is lacking the necessary stepping
stones to help riders progress to
the pro levels (as is the case in
almost every country) the passion,
drive, and creativity needed to
keep the sport going is alive and
well in the riders and friends of
the Rage ‘N Respect FMX crew.

Before ending the interview, I
asked Gerald to explain where the
name ‘Rage ‘N Respect’ came
from. Here’s what he said:
“Rage ‘N Respect is our balance
in the game. It’s a matter of
compromise and it’s a reflection
of our values; values we need in
our sport but also in life. It’s all
about the balance, like Yin & Yang
or good and evil. You need rage to
be able to progress at a high level
in this sport, but you also need to
approach it with respect - or it will
bite you.”
Shout-outs: “Thanks to our
partners Dickies, Ipone, Hexis,
Philip Design but also to Julien
Chat from Adrenafilm for his
outstanding video work.
Thanks to our friends and families
for all their support. And a big
thank-you to the FreestyleXtreme
team.” - Gerald Sanfilippo T
