2007 – Robbie Maddison jumped
into the Guinness Book of World
Records on New Year’s Eve ‘07-’08,
by jumping 322 feet 7,5 inches over an American football field in
Las Vegas.
2008 - At 8:30 PM PST, Rhys Millen
performed a Backflip in a truck. He
launched 80 feet long and went 50
feet high, and landed hard on all four
wheels before the truck then rolled
over. Shortly after the stroke of
midnight in the Eastern Time Zone,
Robbie Maddison successfully
landed his ten-story high jump on to
the replica of the Arc de Triomphe at
a Las Vegas casino, before dropping
60 feet back down to earth.
2009 – The New Year No Limits
moved to Long Beach, CA, where
Travis Pastrana jumped his Subaru
Impreza STI rally car off the Pine
2007.
2010 - On Friday December 17,
Red Bull officially announced that
Levi LaVallee was injured during a
practice run and would be unable to
make his record-setting attempt this
year. As a result there was no New
Year No Limits event for 2010.
2011 - This year New Year No Limits
featured LaVallee making a second
attempt at crossing San Diego Bay,
while Maddo attempted to do the
same, side-by-side on his dirt bike.
When they safely landed, both
established new world records for
distance jumping on a snowmobile
and motorcycle, respectively.
2008.
“I’m as excited as I think a person
can be,” said LaVallee. “I just landed
an over 400-foot jump. I’m not sure
how the sled’s doing, but I’m OK, so
it was good. It’s an amazing feeling.
You have no idea how pumped I
am.”
“It’s a cool feeling to do what I do
and have the backing I do,” said
Maddison. “I was confident we were
going to go a long way tonight and
we’re going to come back and go
even further.”
2009.
Although it’s sad to see the back of
this awesome series, it’s good that
they went out on a high. Massive
respect to everyone who was
involved in the epic Red Bull New
Year No Limits!

EW YEAR APPROACHES
AS I write this and over
the last few years we’ve
noticed something missing
from our New Year entertainment
line-up: The Red Bull New Year No
Limits. After three years and no
word of another record attempt in
the pipeline, it seems safe to say
the series must have come to an
end. From 2007 to 2011 on New
Year’s Eve, various Red Bull athletes
stepped up on huge purposebuilt jumps in an attempt to break
existing world records, seeing in
the New Year in serious style. We
thought we’d give a quick shoutout to each and every one of these
mind-blowing jumps!
