A LTHOUGH IT’S PRETTY MUCH still mid-winter in Europe, it’s around this time of year that the idea of riding in warm, sunny conditions starts to present itself, and dreams of spring-time riding begin to flow. Exactly what 2015 will bring is yet to be seen. Prepare for global series like the Red Bull X-Fighters, Red Bull Rampage, NOTJ, X Games and the AMA Supercross & Outdoors to blow your minds yet again, and for new contests like the SA FMX Championship, Dirt Junkies UK Series, the Fest Series and The Australian FMX and Speed & Style Title, to make their marks on the scene. I think it can be safely predicted that in 2015 we are going to see the levels of so many sports pushed forward yet again, records will be broken and new tricks will be landed for the first time. With guys like Tom Pagès, Andreu Lacondeguy and Marc Márquez progressing at their current rate, new innovations are bound to be just around the corner. Early 2015 will see the release of Travis Pastrana’s new movie: ‘Action Figures’. I’m sure a lot of you will have seen the insane edits that came out of Pastranaland showing himself, Pagès and Josh Sheehan throwing unthinkable tricks, spins and flip combos off the craziest ramp ever made onto the giant Red Bull airbag. Let’s just say I’m more than a little excited to see the full section in the film! The wild antics and original innovations of Pastrana and the crew in this film, are certain to inspire thousands of minds throughout 2015. Maybe not to go and try a Triple Backflip, but seeing these riders try new tricks, coming up with new concepts and pushing themselves further than ever, is sure to light a fire in the belly of fellow riders. And what better time to give the world a big fat hit of Nitro-based inspiration than at the start of a new year! I hope some of the photos and stories in this issue help inspire you in 2015 too.
