Career Highlights Some key moments in Maddo’s climb to the top of the FMX game. May 2005: After making a name for himself on the Crusty Demons tour Robbie took two world records home: longest jump on a 125cc (67 metres) and longest jump with a trick on a 250cc (75 m with a Superman Seatgrab). December 2007: To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Evel Knievel jumping the Caesars Palace fountains in Las Vegas, Robbie spent New Year’s Eve smashing the motorbike distance world record by travelling 98.34 m. For perspective the feat was performed over a makeshift football field assembled in the car park of the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. January 2009: Just over a year later Maddo returned to Vegas to jump a 29 m step-up to the top of their Arc de Triomphe replica before making the 24 m drop off to return to street level. July 2009: Robbie arrived in London to cross the historical Tower Bridge in a novel way: with a backflip over the 8 m gap created by the bridge being opened at the time. April 2010: For one of Robbie’s most iconic stunts (and to be fair, one of FMX’s most iconic images) he took his bike to Corinth Canal in Greece and cleared over 80 m to gap the canal. December 2011: In the last of his Red Bull New Year No Limits appearances, Maddo made a jump of over 115 m across San Diego Bay in California, USA. February 2013: DC Shoes dropped Maddo’s Air.Craft edit – which saw Robbie take to the wreckages of an aeroplane graveyard in Tucson, Arizona and perform a selection of signature and never-before-seen stunts. One of our personal MX edit favourites, Air.Craft is a good first port of call if you’re looking to see what Maddo’s all about. “Having those safety decks is part of the reason I’m still here today talking about it” p. Jürgen Skarwan April 2012: For the opening sequence to Skyfall Robbie became the second Australian to step into the shoes of James Bond – doubling for Daniel Craig in a rooftop motorbike chase (sans helmet) across the narrow tops of the Istanbul Grand Bazaar.
