feel this gives me a different
approach to the riders – being a
rider myself you know, instead of
just being some promoter d**k…
How many of you are involved
in the running of M.O.D
nowadays? Who’s in your team?
We are a small, core group
of people. There is: Arthur
Magnus (CEO of the company
handling M.O.D), Berni Fieber
(production manager), Elisabeth
Hötzl (communications manager
and my PA), Jason Moriarty
and Morgan Carlson (athlete
managers), Alex Antic (online
and media director), Martin Seeh
(fashion director) Gerhard Mayr
and of course the track crew who are the best and hardest
working people in the game.
We use some logistic crews,
runners and stagehands from
local promoters or venues and
of course, last but not least me
- the mastermind and all-seeing
eye of M.O.D. Pretty much
everything gets approved by me.
The main pre-event work is
done by Arthur, Berni, Elisabeth,
Martin, Alex Antic and myself.
My dad still acts as an overall
consultant.
How long before an event do
you have to start the planning
and organising stage?
We start as soon as everything is
locked in and the contracts are
signed. The earlier the better! For
M.O.D Vienna we basically go
on sale for the following year the
same day we do the show, so
exactly one year in advance.
Had you done anything similar
to this before starting M.O.D?
No, I have just been riding bikes
and breaking bones for many
years now! I never behaved as a
child… but I have been growing
up whilst on tour and around the
venues lately. My dad used to be
Austria’s biggest artist manager
and event promoter. He has done
big concerts such as Elton John,
Metallica, Guns N’ Roses and
U2, just to name a few. So I have
