FreestyleXtreme Magazine Issue 3 | Page 10

It’s good to be back... I T HAS BEEN BEYOND hectic here at FreestyleXtreme since the last issue. Over the last month or so we’ve managed to get three awesome European trips in. Along the way we met some amazing people, got some great riding in, partied our asses off and managed to collect some unbelievable content for you guys to check out. First up was a last minute visit to the FMX4Ever HQ in Belgium. We were lucky enough to check out their state-of-the-art warehouse, offices, accommodation, gym and of course their brand new FMX Park that is located just down the road from the HQ. The main reason for the trip however was the notorious: ‘Rock The Ramp’ – a rad demo that FMX4Ever put on every year in their home town of Zelzate. Riding alongside the regular team riders this year were FMX legends Robbie Maddison & Drake McElroy - the Zelzate locals don’t know how lucky they are haha! Keep an eye out for our exclusive video interviews and edits from the FMX4Ever crew dropping soon. Next up was a few days in Munich for the Red Bull X-Fighters. The conditions by the lake were perfect, and although it was a shame Tom didn’t land his Bike Flip, it was rad to see Sheehan back up on the top of the podium. Don’t ask me about the after-party though; it’s a total blur! You will find our full X-Fighters 2014 wrap up further on in this issue. Lastly we made it back to Belgium to hit up the Ricky Carmichael University (RCU) – something we’d been very curious about for a while. The day was intense and demanding, but it was also super fun and we definitely learned a lot and returned as better riders. Getting tuition from the likes of Jeff Stanton, Jeff Emig, Jamie Dobb, Stefan Everts and of course the GOAT himself was simply unbelievable. We will have a full low-down on the RCU coming your way soon! This issue is once again packed with everything you need to be reading from the world of FMX, moto and action sports. While you’re flicking through, make sure you keep an eye out for the legend that is Ronnie Mac – he’s lurking in the mag somewhere and you can win possibly the coolest T-Shirts in the motocross industry if you spot him; find out what I’m talking about on page 19. I hope you all enjoy this issue. Ride on Adam Simpson Editor
