What would you like to see in
the future?
Mountain bike purists would want
to see a dedicated slopestyle
course, but man, I think it’s so
important that the BMX and MTB
riders use the same course. I really
appreciate watching the BMX and
I see the excitement from them
watching us as well. We’re all
riding the same features, so seeing
what the BMXers do on the jumps
shows just what’s capable.
It’s the same as the FMX. I’ve
watched freeride videos of Josh
Hansen, Twitch and Tyler Bereman,
but to see it firsthand at the Friday
night freeride session was actually
fucked up. Standing in the gap of
that hip jump and seeing Bereman
upside-down above me was the
highlight of the whole event for
me. Maybe that’s one thing that
could be changed: open up the
freeride contest to the public, as
people deserve to see that stuff
first-hand.
Nice one. What are your plans
for the rest of the year?
I need to get a wildcard for
Crankworx so I can get to
Innsbruck, Les Gets and Whistler,
and start planning a new video
project. It won’t be at the same
level as Frames of Mind – we’ll aim
for another one along those lines
in 2019 – but more of a UK road
trip that brings in faces from other
countries. It’ll be a mix of MTB and
BMX riders and that’s purely been
inspired by Farm Jam, meeting
legends like Corey Bohan, Kyle
Baldock and Hucker and what
happens down there.
Rad, looking forward to seeing it
dude! Cheers for the chat. t
