...’tis the season
s much as I love the festive
period, running a business
like FreestyleXtreme also
means it’s one of the busiest
and potentially the most stressful parts
of the year. 2017, however, has been a
little different. I’ve managed to squeeze
in some Christmas karaoke and even
hit up a festive roller disco. All a little
out-of-character - and likely to be the
last I see of my street-cred - but a nice
change from the usual frenzy of parcel-
packing.
The relative calm is no mean feat.
A certain degree of the service we
offer is in the hands of the brands or
the couriers, so a smooth Christmas
involves all hands to the pump from
August onwards.
I wanted to pay my dues to all the staff
at FsX and give a massive thanks for
another mega year! Have a drink on
me at the Xmas party and I can’t wait to
see what the next year holds!
Also a massive thanks to all the
customers who have continued
to support the webstore and the
magazine. And this very mag wouldn’t
be possible without the help we
get from the advertisers you see
throughout.
So in the style of a lazy Oscar speech:
without you guys we would be nothing,
so I really hope you enjoy reading the
FsX Mag as much as myself and Seán
do putting it together.
Back to the actual magazine…
22’s another banger with two of my
childhood idols gracing the cover. I
got to sit down with the GOAT, Ricky
Carmichael, to chat race prep, training
and his views on James Stewart. I
spoke at length to Travis Pastrana on
how his career has evolved as he’s
become one of the biggest names in
action sports (probably my favourite
interview to date). We’ve got Alvaro
Dal Farra’s solution to the impending
European snow as he’s packed skis and
a track onto his Kawasaki.
Simon Makker also checked in with
Rob Adelberg for an interesting look
into the career of one of our favourite
FMX journeymen.
We also have interviews with Nick
Visconti (Snow), Daan Var De Linde
(Skate), Jeremey Van Horbeck (MX) ,
Alastair Sayer (FMX) & Thaynan Costa
(Skate).
That should keep you busy well into the
new year!
Enjoy
