£ The French cruised to victory with captain Gautier Paulin wrapping up his fourth MXoN title on the bounce . Both he and Romain Febvre put in solid performances , which were managed perfectly to ensure they brought home the title . Febvre even had the calmness to pull over for fresh googles - which I ’ ve never seen someone do from third . At the start of the weekend there was question over Christophe Charlier - who was only called up after injuries to both Dylan Ferrandis and Benoît Paturel . Christophe wouldn ’ t have been my first choice , with 2014 world champ Jordi Tixier or Christophe Pourcel seemingly more obvious candidates .
