HAZ, FIRST OF ALL
congratulations on
the double podium in
Imola. What have you
been up to over the last couple
of weeks before arriving here in
Donington? Feet up or training
hard?
p back to contents
Thank you very much. Well
definitely not so much “feet up”.
So straight after Imola, we had a
one day test on the Monday and it
was pretty important to get some
work done seeing as testing is
pretty limited during the season.
We also managed to get our car
towed in Bologna that night - we
returned from pizza and the car
was no longer where we left it…
but after some local help we
eventually managed to get that
back and found a hotel.
I then spent all of Tuesday
travelling back to the UK and then
immediately went to Coventry
from Wednesday to Friday where
I had to finally nail down my road
bike test and get that under my
belt.
It was a pretty intense few days,
especially after the race weekend
in Imola and the test. I really
wasn’t up for a three day bike
test… but once we got on the
road and got on with it, it was
good fun and I am really glad to
have it done and have that for
life now. I was looking forward to
getting out on the open road on
a summer’s day and going for a
cruise.
That pretty much brings us to
now, here at Donington. I had a
few days where I managed to fit
in a bit of training but nothing too
intense. As a lot of the hard work I
achieved was pre-season and I’m
still feeling the benefits of that, so
now it’s just maintenance training.
So does that consist of the
same week in week out when
preparing for each race
weekend or do you mix it up
and try different methods and
techniques?
Yeah I definitely mix it up, all
sorts of things usually: rowing,
