I
F WE’RE GOING TO be honest,
trials riding can often be classed as
a bit of an oddball sport. But there’s
a huge chasm between what most
trials riders do and what Australian
freestyle trials rider Jack Field does for his
bread and butter.
Jack and his partner Rhianna Buchanan
have carved out a unique path operating
action sports entertainment company, Flair,
which has led to and continues to open up
opportunities to showcase action sports to
mainstream audiences.
That can mean stunt-riding for some
of the biggest names in Hollywood;
performing pre-show entertainment during
the AMA Supercross Championship;
demos at Formula 1 races; or organising
a fleet of trucks, riders and set-ups to
perform at shows around Australia.
Jack certainly has his hands full. But the
29-year-old Queenslander takes it all in
his un-pretentious stride, often operating
on minimal sleep - a creative mind that
doesn’t seem to have an off-switch - and
with a passion for his riding and craft that
never seems to wane.
We caught up with Jack for a photo-shoot
on one of the rare occasions the likeable
bloke was home instead of living out of a
suitcase - then interviewed both Jack and
his better half, Rhianna, during one of their
thousands of interstate road trips across
the big red frying pan that is Australia. u
