HE MONSTER ENERGY CUP, rising from the
ashes of the MGM Grand based US Open of
Supercross, is now in its fifth year of existence.
With the 2016 supercross season approaching,
we thought it would be a good time to look back
at this race and see if it answered any questions we had.
As Soaring Eagle/Jimmy John Suzuki’s Ken Roczen said
in the press conference on Friday before the event, it’s
hard to take momentum from this race into Anaheim 1 in
January.
But this race stands for something and certainly Roczen,
after going 1-4-1 for the overall, hopes he’s wrong when
it comes to that momentum part. Roczen rode great in
Vegas and after a turbulent 2015 season, put a lot of
speculation about him to rest with his impressive three
main event rides.
But there are plenty of other questions still left
unanswered after the last firework went off above the
Sam Boyd Stadium. Let’s tackle some of those now. u
