1. How do you feel TOPSHOP
communicate their jewellery range?
If I’m honest, I don’t
particularly think it’s communicated
to our consumers all that well.
Obviously our consumers know that
the brand provides a jewellery range,
but for people that have never
entered the store before, there
isn’t much publicity out there that
actually let’s them know about the
jewellery we offer in store.
2.
Do you think the FREEDOM
jewellery range fits in well with
TOPSHOP itself?
In some ways yes, and in some ways
no, it depends really. I mean,
FREEDOM do tend to keep up with
the trends that we currently have
in stock, but sometimes they will
bring new pieces in that just would
never work with the clothing that we
provide. I personally think it would
be a great idea to actually offer a
place on the website or photographs
in store, that provide our
customers with ideas in which
they can mix and match our
jewellery range with our
garments.
3. When customers enter your
stylist room, do they often ask
for jewellery recommendations?
All the time, in-fact,
nearly every customer I have
come through my stylist room
tends to want a second opinion on
what piece of jewellery to put
with their newly bought outfit.
They never actually bring
jewellery in the room with them
at first, but once we have put
together the outfit they have
been searching for, it becomes a
frequent question on what
statement or casual piece of
jewellery to put with it.
4.
Being a stylist, do you think
jewellery can make or break an
outfit?
Definitely it all depends on what
the outfit is for, a special occasion
or just a casual everyday outfit. I
just feel jewellery makes an outfit
the majority of the time, you just
have to find the balance of whether
you need a statement piece, or just
a piece that adds that little bit
extra to what you’re wearing.
5. What piece of jewellery do your
customers tend to look for/want?
It all depends on what outfit I have
styled and picked out for the
customer, and also depends on what
occasion the outfit is for. If I had
to say one piece in particular though,
I would probably have to say
Necklaces! Necklaces tend to always
go with more than just the outfit
the customer is wearing that day,
they’re easy to mix and match, and
tend to last longer than other
jewellery pieces.
