This year, the dance remains at the downtown location with the main stage located at Third Street and Monterey Road. The dance starts after the Patriotic Sing, held at Morgan Hill’s Downtown Amphitheater, and for many people, it marks the beginning of Morgan Hill’s Freedom Fest 4th of July celebrations. Join us for a fun-fi lled evening of live music and dancing, food and drinks. Morgan Hill residents are fortunate to enjoy freedom, amber waves of grain, fruited plains, and an Independent Day celebration that has taken place since 1876. Whether it’s hearing “The Stars and Stripes Forever” while watching the fi reworks, or turning up the radio during the traditional family BBQ, music is an essential part of how Americans celebrate Independence Day. With this year’s “Happy Birthday America” theme in mind, we might pay extra attention to the lyrics of the songs that pay tribute to our beautiful country. Songs like America the Beautiful, This Land is Your Land, and God Bless America, describe the beauty and freedoms that we are so privileged to enjoy. For the past 23 years, the Family Music Fest chairman and Morgan Hill’s 2015 Man of the Year, Dennis Dal Poggetto, along with co-chair Manny Padilla, have organized this fantastic event. Kimberlee Boggiano is the overall volunteer coordinator for 50-60 volunteers. It takes approximately 25 logistics volunteers to pull this complicated and amazing event together for our enjoyment. There are beer and wine tents where beverages are available for purchase. Wine will be provided by some of our wonderful local wineries including Guglielmo, our main HAPPY BIRTHDAY wine sponsor along with Fortino, Martin Ranch, Miramar, Morgan Hill Cellars, and Alara Cellars. We’d like to say a special ‘Thank you’ to Sal Calisi of Odeum Restaurant for his continued support of our VIP tent. Make sure you stop in for lunch or dinner at Odeum Restaurant and enjoy their delicious food year-round. Our VIP tent concierge is Brittany Sherman, who generously takes care of all of our VIP Sponsors and is responsible for all of the fun going on in the VIP tent. The beer and wine sales is one of our limited fundraising opportunities to support the free fi reworks. So please help us support this event- buy beverages and drinks responsibility!
