Car Show After Parade
2017 Best of Show
W
hat car did you drive (or want
to drive) on your 16th Birthday?
Based on your age, it could have
been a Model T, a Packard or LaSalle, pre-war
Chevy or Ford, a 50s hot rod, a Tri-Five Chevy,
a 1st generation Mustang, a Midyear Corvette,
a GTO, a 442, a Buick Grand National or even
something a bit newer. The American love
for cars continues to this day. Maybe one just
like the one you drove will be included in this
year’s Morgan Hill Freedom Fest Car Cruise ‘n
Show on the 4th of July. Come early and watch
the Car Cruise kick off the parade then come
over to the Community and Cultural Center
parking lot to review the cars up close at the
Car Show. Hopefully these cars will bring back
memories of your 16th Birthday dream car.
Starting at 9:30 am, to kick off the offi cial 4th
of July Parade, over 100 classic, hot rod, muscle
cars will “cruise” the parade route for your
enjoyment. These cars are owned and driven
by local people….maybe your neighbor! Watch
for the diff erent marque vehicles from every
era that are no longer in production.
Again this year, the Car Cruise will
terminate at the Community and Cultural
Center parking lot for the Car Show. After
enjoying the parade, come over and walk
alongside the wide variety of cars on display.
The cars will on display until at least 2:00 pm
so you can stop by, talk to the owners and
admire their cars. Members of the host club,
Valle Del Sur, Antique Automobile Club of
America, will be present to answer questions
about any classic car.
Between 12:00 and 1:00 pm, the sponsors
of the Cruise ‘n Show will be making their
choice of the cars they want to give an Award
of Excellence. The awards will be presented
at 2:00 pm culminating with a Best of Show
trophy to the car receiving the most votes by
the sponsors.
If you have 30+ year old car or truck that
you would like to enter in this event, you can
download an entry form at www.mhfreedom-
fest.com in the Car Cruise ‘n Show section.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Early registration is recommended as lunch
(two Beach Hut Deli sandwiches, chips, soda,
and two Patti’s Perfect Pantry cookies) and a
goodie bag will be limited to the fi rst 125 cars.
Cars 126+ will only be in the Cruise and Show.
Be sure to get your place on the parade route
early for the Cruise and then come to the CCC
to view the cars and help celebrate the 4th of
July with the car owners.
Happy Birthday America!
